This article covers recommended cybersecurity best practices for use of Peek Pro and your account. Please follow these practices closely as your account's privacy, personal information, and safety are most important.
Secure Password
Select a password that is easy to remember but hard for someone else to guess.
Do:
- Combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters
- At least 8 characters
Don't:
- Reuse passwords -- If your login password for your email account and Peek Pro account are the same, both accounts will be more susceptible to hacking.
- Share your password
- Store your password digitally within emails or notes
- Use predictable passwords like "123456" or "password"
- Use personal information such as company name or your name
Sensitive Information
Do not share personal or sensitive information over phone text messages, WhatsApp, or email as these may be insecure. Sensitive information would include your username, password, name, credit card information, bank account information, or birthday. It is best to share this information over the phone or in person. You can also choose to use a password manager such as 1password or Roboform.
Connect over secure Wi-Fi
Any Wi-Fi network used should be secure, encrypted, and hidden. Public Wi-Fi networks can be risky and make your data vulnerable to being intercepted. Software such as Norton Secure VPN can help keep your information private on public Wi-Fi.
Install computer and browser security updates regularly
If you receive a computer or browser notification to install an update, do so right away. Antivirus and anti-malware protections are frequently revised to target and respond to new cyberthreats. By installing updates, you help defend your information against any cyber threat. Peek does not control and is not responsible for any Third Party Channels and any content, products, services, and information accessible from or provided through any of them.
Limit employee access
If your business experiences staff turnover, make relevant updates and notify Peek. If one of your logins is no longer being used, please remove access to prevent unwanted log-ins.
Subscribe to receive data breach notifications
Websites such as haveIbeenpwned.com can let you know if your email address or phone number has been breached. By subscribing you can receive notifications about any future breaches.
Following these cybersecurity practices closely could be the difference between a secure business and a targeted business. Please reach out to our support team with any questions.
