A Peek.com Activity Page has four main sections: Title, Details, Highlights, Included and To Know. Below outlines how to write them.
Please note: To ensure all times are listed, auto confirm must be on.
Title: 60-80 characters
Example:Tandem Kayak Rental on Pacific Beach
- Titles are very straightforward, simple descriptions of what the activities are
- The title names the activity (kayak), the type of activity (rental), and where it takes place (Pacific Beach, San Diego)
- Duration of activities (e.g., half-day, full-day, two-hour) are helpful for customers to know
- If the activity falls within one of these areas, please specify: rental, class, lesson, guided tour
Details/Summary: 40-50 words
This is the first thing customers will read about each activity, so it should grab their attention.
Example (for a guided stargazing tour):
Explore beyond Earth's atmosphere and into space. Maui's largest portable telescope is your window to the planets, nebulae and other celestial objects of the night sky and an unforgettable night of experiencing the universe.
Tips:
- This serves as the intro to the activity, so give an overview of the primary highlights of the experience
- Make the activity sound out of the ordinary without being gimmicky or going over the top
- Put yourself in the mind-frame of a traveler looking for something fun and who’s at least mildly interested in the activity type—what would get your attention and make you want to book? (again, without being gimmicky or over the top)
Highlights (“What You’ll Do”): 30-80 word bullets
This section of 3 to 6 bullet points serves two purposes: Highlight the fun stuff on the touranddescribe how the activity will unfold.
Example:
- Zoom across San Francisco Bay at sunset on a racing yacht used by the 2003 ORACLE racing team in the America's Cup sailing tournament
- Hoist and tack the sails and take the helm if you choose, or sit back and enjoy the view as the city lights begin to twinkle over the city at dusk
- Follow the official 34th America's Cup race course and experience race maneuver simulations with the San Francisco skyline as your backdrop
- Sharpen your knowledge of sailing and learn about the history of America's Cup from a captain and crew with decades of sailing experience
Tips:
- Write about the most extraordinary moments (or possible moments) of the activity to give a sense of the experience; work in details, but leave purely practical info for the sections below—at least the first two bullets should describe something that would be considered a “cool factor” (or at least what’s “cool” to people interested in the activity)
- Be specific about what guests will see/do instead of being general (e.g., “Spot tropical fish, sea turtles and more...” rather than “Snorkel in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico”)
- Go beyond the obvious—leave out details that are commonly known and don’t add to the sense of experience
- Reference ideas that young travelers relate to (e.g., social media, adventure, worldly experience)
- Start every bullet with an action verb (this section is called “What You Will Do” on Peek.com, so bullets should follow that phrase in a logical way)
- Try to include something unexpected/outside the basic scope of the activity (e.g., for an airplane tour of San Francisco: “Get a ton of likes on social media when you post stunning aerial photos of San Francisco”)
- Include meals when applicable (e.g., for a bike tour of Napa: “Take a break from pedaling for a gourmet lunch at an upscale Napa restaurant”)
Included:
- List everything that’s included in the ticket price—including the base activity (e.g., Guided walking tour of Hollywood)
- Be direct and specific with what a customer is getting for their money ( i.e: 4 hours on a 26-foot powerboat)
- List amenities and inclusions here (meals, fuel, free things, etc)
What To Know:
- Age and health/physical restrictions (i.e., 21+, no passengers over 240 pounds)
- Catering to allergies & dietary constraints
- Include what to wear, what to bring, how early to arrive
- Group sizes
- Don’t include:waiver information, gratuity information
Cancellation Policy:
- This is required so your activity can be posted on Peek.com
- Include any details your customer needs to know
